55 under 90

Under "normal" circumstances, will a 55g fit under a 90?

Not normally. The typical interior of a 90G stand is 47"x17".

I have a 55 under my 90. I had the stand made so that it will fit though. The tanks are the exact same length.

i have a 48" 55g under my 48" 75g tank. i custom built a large stand to accomodate it thouugh

How hard would it be to accomodate a stand to fit a 55, assuming the stand is a simple 2x4 plywood skinned stand?

I use a wrought-iron stand and have a 33gallon long underneath.

I was going to go 55, but it was too tall to allow for easy access, so I went with the 33. Very easy to use.

I think a 40 breeder would fit under a 90, but I already have a 55 and had enough trouble finding a 90g tank.stand/canopy drilled/RR locally, and for a decent price.

The 40B problem is it is 18" wide. Typically, the interior of the stand is 17". If the back is open, you can have the edge of the 40B poking out the back a bit.

What would fit under there and get the most use out of space to increase the sump size?

30L will fit easily. if you have at least a 36" opening in the back, you can have the back edge of the 40B stick out. Just be sure the whole bottom of the sump is equally supported.

I have a 30L under my 110, leaves room for the Calcium reactor and CO2.

So I suppose a supporting piece of 2x4 or something would do the trick for an extra 1" or 2" hanging off the back.
