Leave him be.. if he does not attach up high and drops to the sand bed then leave him there. You should only worry if it starts to bleach then you may have to move it up. Dont move it all over the place it may stress out. I f it does not like the clam shell then ditch it. T5's put out more light than most people think.

My Crocea loves it on the sand and it always rolls itself onto the side. It looks like it puts the lower mantle out further than the top. When I look down from above, it's always getting light on it's whole mantle, despite being on it's side.
