i was wondering wat kind of filtration should i put in my 55g. one thing i am doing is an undergravle filter but i was also thinking about doing a either a wet/ dry or i dont know wut els. but not a hang on. want to set something up cause im eventualy going to use the same system for my 150 in about 6 to 7 months. pleas help. im so lost.

I would get a hang on overflow box. Then put a sump under the 55 and get an ASM-G2 skimmer for the sump. Thats all i would use forget the wet dry filter your sandbed will do the rest. Then when you upgrade to the 150 you can use the 55 as your sump and keep the G2. You could even get a G3 if you really want to overkill but you won't really need it. Hope this helps.

just remember biological filtration is your friend, get a lot of pourous live rock and live sand and its only a matter of time before the tank is maintaining itself (in a biological way :)

I would get rid of the undergravel filter. Get live rock and sand. The best filtration there is.

I have a 55. I have an overflow with a sump. I took out the bio balls and added a skimmer. I also added a hang on refugium. If I had to do it over again, I would get a sump/refugium combo.
