6 ft long metal halide light

really?
Is that an attempt at a for sale post or are you questioning if that light is suitable for your tank?
Its also "bow" front not "bowl" front..

no sale

i am thinking baout buying one off of some one so i am asking is that a good price and is that good light

What brand?
What is the condition of the light?
What is the age of the bulbs?
What bulbs does it come with?

Is it just MH or does it have T5 bulbs also?

Do you plan on running a chiller to keep the water cool?

What types of corals are you planning on growing in the tank?

That's a lot of output.

I can't speak to your market, but I would not spend that much on a light like that.

for some perspective a semi-local to me, SE Michigan, recently sold a 4' 2 bulb halide fixture for 50 bucks.

and that took some persuasion.

I used a lighting system with 3 250 Hamilton bulbs and two vho blue on my tank for a long time. The heat it puts our is a lot! Plus when I went to radion my power bill went down 100 dollars. Your tank will run hot. I used two fans to help cool mine down. Just starting you can get away with led orbit lights.
