6 line in Hyposalinity, not looking good

Ok this little six line has been in my QT hyposalinity (1.009SG) since 6-17-06 - he's in with a red firefish. i went with hypo because 3 days into the tank he developed ich. There was a purple firefish who went carpet surfing in like a 1" gap but anyway the six line only hides in the pvc pipes and doesn't even seem to be eating. He was doing fine before hypo and during the first few days of treatment seemed fine, but he won't come out at all now and i have tried all types of food, the firefish pigs out as usual but i'm afraid if i keep the 6 line in here for another week he's going to be toast. Also when i pull the pvc pipe up to look at him he just goes to another piece and hides, but i do see a small white spot on his back by his black spot but it seems to be on both sides, besides ich wouldn't be living in hypo right?

should i bring him back or chance it?

well since my last post i've increased hypo up to 1.016 and he's out swimming around. what's the best thing to feed them?

What are you using to test the salinity. I have not seen any strees related on any of the fish I have using hypo. Maybe it was too low. It takes from 4 - 6 weeks in hypo to be effective against ich. 6 weeks or more better.

you dont need to go that low to kill the ick effectively, 1.016 whereas the 1.009 is just boardering cruelty. In either case its good to hear that hes alright.

1.009 is critical but you must use a calibrated refractometer. Any higher and the ich can/will survive. Mastergaz, please do more reading on the ich subject. Thanks.
