I have not bought anything live online yet, but the first snail I bought were from Petco. They were supposed to be 3 nassarius snails, but one of them ended up being astrea. I was right next to the person getting them and wasn't paying attention. Not even close to your situation because no harm was done.
Can a large nassarius snail kill a small fish?

Similar experience at Petco, I got Trochus snails, told the worker I wanted Trochus, he bagged ‘em up, wrote the Astrea code on the bag. So, I got Trochus for the price of Astreas.
