6 line wrasse and Leopard wrasse

I have a 220 gallon tank with a ton of live rock and a 4in deep sand bed. I had my 6 line for a long time and just introduced a Leopard wrasse to the tank. And the 6 line is just chasing him around the tank and fighting with him. Now the leopard wrasse is under the sand. Is there any hope with this one?

Sure. Take out the sixline wrasse.

Wrasses are a coin toss some times they are fine with each other . And some times they are territorial .
Here is a example . In my 75 i added 3 wrasse at same time . And they were fine . In my 180 i had one wrasse then i added a second 2 months later , they fought all day intill one ended in the overflow

would be pretty impossible to get that 6 line out of my tank so many rocks and corals to get to him.

Well, sorry to hear that. In that case the likely outcome for the leopard wrasse is not a good one. They are difficult in any case, but with feisty tank mates, your odds are slim and none.

I introduced a Leopard to a big old badazz 6-line's tank.

(Not a good thing to do!)

The Leopard survived the 6-line's onslaught and actually learned to fight the 6-line off. (The fights were brutal.)

Several months later the 6-line died. I'm happy the Leopard survived.

Yea the leopard wrasse wont even fight back he comes out of the sand and gets pounded by the 6 line and now the neon dottyback is ganging up on him :/

usually

usually

6-lines and most Dottybacks won't make friends with Leopards.

The Orchid Dottyback (P. fridmani) usually gets along with Leopard Wrasses.
So do most flasher and fairy wrasses.

Ive been down this road before. IME 6-lines never tolerate any leopard. Ive tried this twice and ended up removing the leopards and putting them into different systems. Ive caught the leopards as Gary described.

And P. fridmani is the only dottyback you can keep with fairy and flasher wrasses.

The dottyback and wrasse get along perfect but when the leopard wrasse comes out he just flares up his fins and just seems to stalk him.

sorry to say but i agree that there might be little hope for your leopard, they are fragile enough as it is, now with another fish beating the heck out of it... not good...

hopefully it pulls through.
