6 line Wrasse

I've read that they will pick off some kind of parisite on clams and that you need one if you're going to have clams. I don't have either yet but want to get a clam. do I need the wrasse?

no you dont need the wrasse. They're suppose to eat parasites off the clams. However, one is not needed.

I have a sixline wrasse and he did nothing to prevent a cone snail invasion. The cone snails were a pain but it was not the end of the world.. or at least my clams world. So I would not buy a wrasse just for your clam's sake. However I do think six lines are cool.

Yes they have the rep of helping out, how much so I cant say...but I really enjoy the fish initself...cool colorfull red and green strypes and always crusing around...

I like them too, but I just had one jump out of my tank, and later die. So I'm not inclined to get one too soon.

u r the best protection for parasitic organism's.a wrasse will eat whatever is there!
