after a near crash dosing vinegar for a few months ago and the loss of 5 of my favorite sps's including a 7" aussie mint green table :sad2: . i decided to try zeovit for nutrient control.
i am using a 3l vertex reactor with 2.5 lites of zeolites. i am dosing 10 drops of zeo bak for the first 10 day after the stone change and 2 ml of zeostart 3 daily.
i did have some cyano but after a few weeks of dosing coral snow, biomate and zeozym every other day it is nearly gone, 98% id say and only a small amount of hair algae is left.
i am close to week 6 and ive noticed phos is reading 2-4ppm on my hanna meter ,without the use of gfo. nitrates were close to 5ppm not they are closer to 2pmm.
i have a fairly large bio load with about 36 fish and a total water volume of about 260 gallons. i use a reef octo 5000ext skimmer.
i lowered alk from 9 to 7.5 per instructions, removed gfo after 4 weeks and added 4 cups of brs lignite carbon run passively in the sump.
i will have to get some pictures with a good camera. my phone does not take good pictures, for some reason the colors are not even close.
i am happy to say that i have noticed some great growth and improved color in a short period.
