Hello everyone, I've been out of the hobby for a little while, due to a divorce, but I decided to get back in the hobby. So I'm going to start a 60 gallon reef ready build. SPS and a few LPS. So I need opinions on power heads, I'm thinking 2 vortech mp10, opinions? If all goes well who knows I might get motavated to fire up my 240 lol. But for now your input on power heads.

Hey Guss long time no see... 2 MP10's will work out but now in days everyone is buy the WP10 which is a Chinese cheap knock off if you want wires in you're tank

Whats up Frankie, it has been a long time. I just checked them out and the seem to perform the same, but wow what a price difference. Thanks for the heads up.

I have two WP-25s on my 150g and they are very nice pumps. Very quiet as well. Had them for 4 months now, no issues.

Folks have to remember why Vortech was invented to keep wires out of your tank I think that's the most expensive feature IMO. Now if the cheap knock offs can pull that off with them being that cheap I def give them a shot.

Second question/opinion, going with a 29 gallon long for a sump/refuge I already made a few years ago but never used it. You guys feel thats sufficient? I was hoping to see those $1.00 a gallon sale to go with a 40 breeder sump but I havent seen that sale in a while. I dont know if I'm allowed to say the name of the place. Opinions please.

I decided to stick with the 29 long for the 60 gallon cube build which I haven't started lol. Because I got entertained with the bio cube build retrofit, i ended up buying a 20 gallon for my biocube sump build. Thanks for the heads up.

Ok so I decided to hold off on this project for a bit. Instead I'm going do a bio cube build. I will start a new thread and return to this one once I start it up again.
