I am asking $375 tank, stand, aqua clear filter w/ ceramic rings and extra tubes, glass marbles, two strip lights, and decorations i have pics if interested

how hard will it be for me to turn this into a reef tank since i cant seem to get any buyers on here?

Drill a drain hole(or buy an external overflow) and hang a pendant.

any particular brand on the overflow box that would work best. any other lighting suggestion

I have no experience with the external overflows. I guess you could try to build a canopy and retrofit it or ?? On my 44 pentagon corner tank (freshwater) I have a 2X65 lunarlight coralife fixture hanging above it. That would grow the softer stuff and some lps probably. It's about 24" I think.

i did a google search and seen a really nice 42 gallon hex bare bottom but i am not i very good diy i would want to use the existing stand also
