well....to continue....

Heres the stand on the wooden base:

the top has an extra sheet of ply under it.....while I am doing some painting, but the steel is in place and not going anywhere.
Next step is getting the holes cut for the closed loop then getting the tank on top.

The skimmer came today, I went with an ASM g6 redrilled to make it a recirculating skimmer.

and here is lynn next to it for size comparison.

the skimmer has 3 sedra 9000 pumps......cant wait to get it running.

Paul.

Looking good... Looks like you are picking up a little speed on the project now :) When I get home in the morning I am going to work on my aquascaping some and should have my RO booster pump tomorrow or Friday...

WOW, you had the same pic idea I had with my little tank project, only Emily is standing next to the head of the skimmer and not the whole thing. I'm not hijacking. Your still the residential reef KING!!

You will be pleased with the G6. Mine pulls tons of stuff out, even without the mods.

Show off.

LOL.

I may paint the pipe on mine red....

LOL, on my system plumbing I used sched 80 fittings on everything, I am debating on using red tape and going over all of the white sched 40 pipes to make it all match... ;)

Man, you'd be amazed how much corals and fish you can squeeze into one of those nanos with a skimmer like that on it!!

Overall I think we have some nice looking skimmer models! You were probably thinking the same thing I was "nobody would rather see me in this pic"

Keep those pics coming...

Gary

Shawn, you're killing me....tho I have to be honest....I helped a friend set his tank up and the plumbing and the laying of the electrical he did was incredible....i was thinki9ng of having him come help me (listening Ray?)...

There is a real difference between plumbing and making a nice clean and good looking job.

The colors of the bubble king are nice. I really do like the red pipe. I debated on black or red for my stand. I went with Black cos I could not envisage using red outdoor paint for any other project i have going on.

When do you think you will have water in yours? Im hoping to have mine drilled this weekend and plumbed by next.

Gary...you read my mind.....

BTW, If you want to cover your pipes in red all you have to do is go to Bed, Bath and Beyond. They have plastic shower rod covers that come in all different colors. They just snap around the pipe. The maximum diameter it works on is 1" but it looks pretty good.

Do you have any pics of Ray's setup, I am interested in seeing...

I am waiting on my RO booster pump which should be tomorrow (today) or Friday... I am going to try to start on my aquascaping after work if I am not too tired and once I get the booster pump setup I am going to start filling the display while I work on setting up the sump and ref and getting all of that plumbed, It will take a good few days to fill the display so I can be killing two birds with one stone...

Most of my pipes will be 1.5" and 2"...

Oh wait, you were prob talking to Paul :)

Hehe. Now I have heard it all - skimmer pipe coloring debates! :)

I'll have to keep this in mind and use orange electrical tape when I build mine in a month or two or three.... :)
