My pump has stoppped working and I am hearing a high pitch beeping sound from the driver box. I just started using this two months ago and I do not have my documentation on hand. What can be wrong? I also have the 7091 controller. I reset the power and the cables to no avail. Please help...

Try cleaning it

The alarm just means the pump was stuck and needed to be cleaned. Be sure that you cleaned the upper bearing, this is a track at the bottom of the hole that the magnet spins on and the magnet being stuck to it is the number one cause of an alarm. Often times people overlook this and the alarm goes off again in very short order.

That is what I plan to do but I cannot find my booklet. So far, I removed the shield and unscrewed the the propeller off. I do not know where to go from there.

I just got my streams but according to the book...

There are 6 pieces that should be cleaned...

Cover
propeller
rotor compartment
bearing bush
upper internal bearing
magnetic rotor

probably easiest to take it apart and soak it in vinegar overnight

I took it all apart and cleaned it with the Tunze pump cleaning kit you can buy and full strength vinegar. I had some white stuff everywhere. I guess that is the calcium and alkalinity precipitate. It is working great now! Thanks Guys!

Hi Roger,

Okay, this is the day after and the pump will not work at all. It failed about an hour ago. The 7091 controller displays that the pump is on and the Power 2 led is fully illuminated and the Power 1 led is somewhat illuminated and flashing a little. There are no obstacles in the pump itself. The high pitch beeping sound is intermittent. What is wrong now? Please advise.

Thanks

Janie

Often people overlook the upper bearing this is the part on the bottom of the magnet- if it is stuck to the magnet it will cause this problem, the magnet should freely spin on it.

The upper bearing is the piece with the red oring on it, sometime the oring stays behind in the hole.

So, the red o-ring needs to slide onto the that metal piece. It looked like you just fit it in first then slide the magnetic part in. I was unable to separate those two parts you are displaying. Do I need some type of tool for that? I think I am missing the red o-ring. Can I purchase some of those from you?

Thanks

Their are no metal pieces? If you are missing the oring that is a problem, double check taht it isn't covered in calcium at the bottom of the hole. The pump wouldn't have worked if it wasn't their to begin with so it has to be somewhere. You need to pry the upper bearing off gently using a screwdriver and slowly working your way around being careful not to damage it. Then soak it in vinegar until all the lime deposits are gone.
