Nothing to see Move along
I have 2 6000 pumps in my 125g. One is new and the other is used.

My used one has a problem. When I move the pump in the magnet mount, it sometimes stops. It will restart, but it stops. I have once heard the alarm briefly.

I can also jiggle the cord where it enters the pump body and get it to stop.

I expect the answer to be to "send the pump in for service" and will do that, but I wanted to ask first...

What is wrong?

How bad is it?

How expensive will it be to fix?

Thanks, John

It sounds like the cord has an internal break, if this is the case the motor will need to be replaced which costs about $75.

I think it is worth sending it in, unless you are positive it is the wire, if you are sure that is it, give me a call to order the motor - 512-833-7546.
