6000 to a 6100

I just read in another thread that the 6000 can be upgraded to a 6100. As the 6100 is what I should have went with from the start, this is much more appealing than replacing the 2 6000's currently in my 225. Any information available? Are the drivers all that is needed? Where would I get them?

TIA

PA is out of stock    I got on the waiting list, hopefully this wont turn out to be like the mysterious Magnet holding device that there are rumors of but no one can seem to get! I guess the law of supply and demand doesn't always apply.

Waiting patiently

Careefer,

you may not know that Tunze is a small company about 30 people with a very high demand due to quality and innovation.
Tunze are not in the mas market- pump them out, they just produce useful quality products.
worth waiting for.... :)

It cuts the input power from 19V on a 6100 to the 11V of the 6000. This reduces flow.

The wait will be worth it. I started with 6000's and replaced the transformers to 6100. I sold my 6000 transformers and I think the total upgrade ended up costing me less than $50.

I ended up trading one with a reefer on RC, and buying one from PA.

I just called PA about it and they said it would be over a month until they get it. :( Oh well, went ahead and put my name on the waiting list.

Roger, any idea when these will be available?

Is it easy to change the transformer?

I believe Roger is in Germany till the 8th or so. I think the tansformer is the black round thing resembling a ballast. If I am correct, it is plug and play.

Just to make sure I am thinking correctly, the transformer IS the round black dealy bob? Correct? A friend/dealer locally has a 6100 he will let me borrow the transformer from him if it is in fact the part I am thinking of.
