6045 shaft broke

chudly

New member
The metal shaft that holds the propeller on my 6045 broke closest to the motor. I have tried to pull the remainder of the metal shaft out with some tweezers but can not. Should this metal rod come out freely?
This is the second metal shaft that this has happened too and both have also been rusty too.
Why would there be rust on these rods?
Is there any way to repair this. Seems like such a small thing to break to have to replace a hole pump.
Hope you can help me out.

Thanks
Chad

Chad, I don't think Rodney noticed you were in Canada, I would contact Xenia North America, they are your distributor. Unfortunately it is not possible to replace the shaft but the hole has been reinforced and we use a different metal that is seated much deeper since late 2007. This doesn't happen on the newer pumps.
