6055 Blinking Light on Power Supply

My 6055 stopped working. When I plug it in the power supply goes from a steady green light to a blinking light. I can't find that indication in the manual. Any idea what it means?

This will generally mean the pump is jammed, usually by calcium or fine sand between the fixed metal shaft and the hole in the magnetic rotor. The power supply is overheating as a result of the higher power draw and the blinking is an indicator of this.

What if it is sparkling clean running in a brand new tank? Is the rotor not seated properly?

This is unlikely, the usual cause is that calcium or fine debris is binding the drive unit to the shaft, the blinking means that for whatever reason the pump is using more than 30w, wet connections or a dying motor or even a bad power supply are other possibilities. If you have a second pump or access to one from a friend you could try swapping power supplies and see if that solves it.

Thanks Roger,

It seems strange but I managed to fix it by pushing it firmly into the bearing on the base. It must have been misalinged and jammed causing the extra current draw or something. Now that I know what the light meand I can deal with it.

I also have a dead pump. But my power supply does not give me any lights. I swapped with someone elses power supply and my pump runs smoothly. I'd like to order a replacement power supply but I do not see one in there catalogs.

Thanks Roger. I had just ordered it considering it is a 12 Vold to 24 Volt power supply is there anything special I need to know about setting it up for my Pump and Controler?

After searching the catolog I'm wondering If I ordered the correct power supply. It appears as though the flow rates on my pump are closer to the 6085 than for the 6055. But there is no replacement power supply listed for the 6085. Note the unit is about 4 or 5 years old and does not have the modern magnet positioning features. The number on the power supply is 9935.

In my confusion I'm now wondering if I should have ordered 6105.240? My older Stream is running on a controler?

You need 6105.240 for your model pump, sorry for the confusion, I was answering the original poster, please submit a new order, I will cancel the old one. Unfortunately we cannot modify orders or change the amount charged.

Rogger will I also need a new 24 Volt Jumper since it two different ones between the 6501.240 and 6105.240? I'll put the new order in as soon as I get a reply.

We have all the orders we can get out today, but it will ship on Monday. As many people know we have had supply issues and these are finally being relieved and product shipments are coming back to back every few days, as a result we are focused on backorders today and I just can't squeeze in any more.
