6055 Quit Working

I have three 6055's (Left (L), Middle (M), Right (R)) on my 120 being controled by my Apex

So when went downstairs to feed the fish yesterday, I noticed my Middle (M)6055 had quit working. I unplugged it from the Apex and tried it simply plugged into the power supply and the propeller just "studders" but doesn't spin. I tried the M power supply on the other two 6055s and it powered them fine. I also tried the L & R power supplies on the M unit and it did provided the same result, the propeller just "studders".

I soaked the unit in a vinegar and water solution overnight and gave it a good scrubbing but still nothing... any suggestions? It would seem to me the motor block has gone bad... where is the best place to order parts?

I would start by trying a propeller from one of the working pumps, it may just be the propeller. You can order any spare part on Tunze.com.

Swapped the propellers with one of the other units and the same results... am i best to just order a new motor unit?

I would send the pump in, if it is less than 2 years old, it would be warranty, more than 2 years old, I would still work with you on the repair costs and we can sure that we get the right part to fix it.

Awesome thanks Roger... I bought the units used off of Reef Central and I'm pretty sure they are more than a two years old but I really appreciate your eagerness to help!!

Pardon my ignorance, but are there details on the RMA process posted out here? How do I go about sending it in and how long does it generally take?

Thanks again
Jeremy

Just send it in with a note that has a return address and phone number, typically a repair is done the day after it arrives.
