6055 starts and stops

Hello, I've owned a pair of 6055's for a few years now. Recently one of them started working intermittantly. It will start and run for a second or two and then stop for about 15 seconds. I tried cleaning it but the problem remains. Any advice?

Be sure the metal shaft is firmly in the motor, it should not come out, try a known working propeller (drive unit) it may be worn out.
