6065 Questions

Hi,

1. Do all new 6065s have the titanium alloy shaft?
2. Can you run the 6065s on a wavemaker or timer? (I have a Reefkeeper 2 controller). I'm thinking just on/off cycles.

Since the beginning the Stream 2 has used a 316TI shaft, this is 316 Stainless with 1-2% titanium added. It is what is used on high pressure brake and fuel lines on luxury cars and critical applications. Next month the shafts will change to Titanium grade 2, this is 96% pure Titanium and will eliminate the crevice corrosion issue we have with the current material, basically it pits and corrodes anywhere it is covered (under the silicon bushings)

The non controllable Stream 2 pumps can be cycled off and on once every 15 minutes maximum. Ideally they are left running as much as possible, they will chatter on start up.
