My 6095 is stuck running 3 seconds on/12 seconds off. I disconnected it from the controller, and it's still doing it. I also gave the pump a vinegar bath, cleaned everything and hooked it back up. It's still running intermittently. The pump is about a year old.
Does the power supply blink when this is happening? Are you sure that the inside of the impeller well with the impeller assembly removed is all clean (no white lime deposits, especially on the shaft).

The pump is very clean. I let it soak in vinegar for about 12 hours. I clean all my tunze streams monthly, so they were not very dirty ti begin with. The power supply does not flash, it is lit up a constant red.
As you can see, I keep the power heads clean. I don't allow any deposits to build up on them. I have always ran the pump with the 12v fuse. This morning I tried swapping out the 12v for the 18v, and although it did produce more power, it still on runs for about 3 seconds at a time. I couldn't find any visible damage to the motor block or the shaft. I did however notice a slight imperfection in the impeller magnet, which may just be normal.
Please send it in, the drive unit issue is just a casting blemish and not a big concern. It has to be something with the motor based on the photos. Include a note with your return address and phone number.
