This is my first reef ready tank. I bought it used and it came with tank, stand, canopy, sump, and plumbing. Over the next couple of weeks I will get cycling, figure out what's going in my sump, and decide on lighting/other accessories. Any recommendations are VERY welcome because, like I said, this is my first sump system. The entire reason I bought a complete set up was due to the fact I couldn't wrap my head around drilling/making my own.
I plan to keep seahorses in here (currently have a pair in another tank that are showing signs they may/may have already mate). I'll be putting in some seahorse safe corals and macro algae.
Day 1
Aquascaping! 30+ lbs of live rock. Took about 3 hours to come up with this. I may change it up as I go, but everything seems to be locked in place pretty well.
As for the sump, I ordered a Rio Plus 2100 (692 gph) pump from Amazon for about $44. It will be arriving tomorrow. I'm deciding which protein skimmer to get. The sump is maybe 18x18, three compartments. I added live rock and live sand to the largest compartment. I plan to put some chemipure in another and the skimmer in the other. But that's as far as my thought process went.
