6100 mount points down

I am sure this question has been asked before, but I searched and did not find the answer.

I have a 6100 with a magnet mount. when the pump is hanging from the mount, it points lightly downward and blasts some corals which makes them unhappy.

Is there any way to aim the pump slightly upward? If I mount is upside-down on the magnet (pump above the magnet), it swivels on its own.

Thanks in advance.

Not a pleasant solution, But what i do is turn the mag 15 or so degrees so its on an angle and points the pump level or a tad up.

We know about this problem, it is caused by the bit of slack left in the mount, this is intentional to account for algae growth and prevent the pieces from fusing over time. You could follow Creetins suggestion or use a thin piece of plastic as a shim between the holder and the sliding piece, like a cut up ID card or credit card.

I actually turned the magnet mount over so the mount is on the bottom of the powerhead.
This way when the powerhead turns on the play makes it point more upward instead of downward. Worked like a charm for me.

Hope that makes sense....

No, in fact what you could do that would be more secure is tap a thread in the post and use a nylon screw to secure the arm to the post. 8mm is the ideal but 3/8" would likely work as well.
