Roger and fellow Tunze owners...

I just got my Tunze streams 6100 and the controllers...YAY! I am miffed as the clamp does not fit on over my tank lip...I have them currently mounted to the overflows. What are others doing to mount these things? You can't put them on the sand and Im afraid to use the epoxy stick since it did not even hold LR in place I can't imagine these things being held on the glass by it.

I have also noticed that when I turned them on the sediment on my LR went EVERYWHERE and my sandbed is pretty stirred up...it looks like SD massacre part II. I have them turned pretty much all the way down.....will this settle down in a few hours or days? or is this it and I need to change the angles?

Lastly is there a good flow or way to point them? I have them facing the front glass from my overflows... any suggestions?

just looking for some help from others with this set up the 7094 controller and the 2 6100 streams...thanks a million.

Are you using an AGA tank?

I'm getting my kit delivered Wednesday and will like to know as well.

yes I have an AGA tank...Im kinda disappointed that you have to BUY another thing to hook it up to your tank I mean I just spent $800 for these things?!? I now need an adapter? wow...

Yes you need kit 3000.244 as mentioned in this thread as well as many others- installation photos are half way down the first page.

As for placement and program- end of the tank blowing lengthwise. use tide mode, follow manual. Pulse between 30% and 50% power use a 15minute interval for changing between pumps. If the tank is full of suspended sand be sure to clean the pumps out or you will ruin the drive units- damage from sand is not covered by warranty.

how do you set the 15 min interval? i've read the manuel and guess i'm dense here because i can not get mine to change from side to side except in pulse mode and them it's like evert 30 sec. please help the dumb here. thank you eric

one pump in socket labeled 8 in the manual and one in socket 11. Basically the first and last. A green interval light will come on saying you activated interval mode. Switch to tide mode- top setting. Set time interval switch for minutes, hours. Then dial in for number of minutes or hours.

ok i did that and now only one pump comes on at atime. mode switch is at top position, time interval set for 1 minute, interval lite is on, pulse switch is off, channel 1 is at 30% and100%, channel 2 is 100& and 30%. now when the unit switches back and forth only the bright light channel is powered the dim lite channel cuts off. now what am i doing wrong? sorry for so many questions but one more is there a way when the night mode comes on that both pumps go to 30%? thank you again eric

hwynboy i am very sorry for asking these questions in your thread!! my wife just pointed out that this was very rude of me. i'm sorry i did not think about distracting from your original question. eric

lol no problem I think you need an engineering degree to operate these things as the instructions might as well be made for a fire starter. I could not even understand the concept of hanging the darn stream, though I think I have it now. My only problem is that I dont understand the controller which looks like Im not the only one lol...and I cant stop my sand from flying around everywhere... I have turned it off for tonight in hopes it will settle by tomorrow and I will try again... this is very frustrating and I am not very happy with my purchase thus far. Not good to have excellent flow and not be able to see inside your tank.

i put mine on the sides of my tank at the very top right next to the front glass slightly angled towards the center of the tank. i know not what you want to look at right next to the front glass but this seemed to give me the best flow throughout the rocks with out stirring up sand. hopes that helps. eric

eric's reef- your controller is working fine- this is the correct application of tide mode and night mode. What is it you are trying to do?

i thought you said it was bad for the pump to turn on and off alot. so is it ok for the pump to on and off every five minutes? sorry if i have confused things but again i guess i'm missing thr big picture here.

That does not apply with our controller and the electronic pumps. The controller has a specific program that can give a 10% power start up pulse and then go to the programmed rotation speed. This rule only applies to timers and other controllers and non electronic pumps.
