6100 went belly up.

My 6100 stopped working. I tracked the problem down to the driver (7240.27). It gets hot enough to fry an egg on it! The transformer is fine (same voltage as my working wavebox) Edit: I assume it's fine. The plastic housing is a bit warped from the heat. The prop spins freely.

My question: Can I send the 7240.27 in for repair? Or do I have to spend another $98.56 to get my less than 5 month old, $332.93 Tunze Stream to work?

I looked in the box for the warranty, but didn't see anything.

Thanks!

Sorry to know you have a TUNZE part no working properly. I would suggest you to check the bottom of the heavy transformer to see if it is still nice and flat or there is some funny shapes happening. Usually flat bottom mean it is OK. Or you can double confirm that by running is with your wavebox using the same transformer.

About the warranty, for only being 5 months usually it is still under the warranty if everything is used correctly and not being water damaged. You would have to check with your local TUNZE dealer as different country might have different warranty coverage.

cheers,

The bottom is a tiny bit warped, but it does run the wavebox. So, I guess it's the 7240.27
