6100 without controller

What is the best way to use 6100's without controller on my 150, I have 2? Can they be used on timers to turn on and off at say 6 hr intervals?

You can do that. You could do shorter intervals as well, on the Electronic pumps I would probably still observe the 1hr minimum without the controller, only because I don't know for sure that the Electronics prevent a back spin when start up is done without a controller.
