6105 and Deco rock questions

I'm setting up a new 125 gallon mixed reef tank. Literally, the LR is curing in the tank now... but some of the tank equipment is TBD.

I'm considering getting one of the 6105 Turbelle Stream Pumps- since that could later be integrated with a controller....

Meanwhile, I'm seeing these Tunze Deco Rock things. Since tank hasn't been aquascaped yet, the timing is perfect to incorporate.

1) Is the Deco Rock compatible with the 6105 model? The advertising doesn't list it, but I was thinking perhaps that was because the 6105 is so new.

2) Does the Deco Rock inhibit the performance or efficiency of the stream pump? Since it is built by Tunze, I'm assuming that it won't damage the unit or cause it to burn out (definitely wouldn't attempt a DIY on the idea). In other words, the warranty on the 6105 stands if I use the deco rock, correct?

3) Does the Deco Rock prevent small fish from getting sucked into the intake any better than a "naked" one? Planning on a school of Green Chromis in the tank, so if I can offer them a bit of extra protection via the deco rock, that would be yet another reason to go for it.

4) Does anyone have any photos of the deco rock incorporated into aquascape? Please post!

thanks- lovin' this forum!

I can only help you with question 3. If you have a fish get sucked into one of these powerheads, it wasn't the fault of the powerhead. The area they pull water from is very broad, so it would take a very weak/dying fish to get sucked in. I love my 6105, incredible flow and much easier on the eyes compared to my 6101.

1) Yes, the outlet is the same.

2) The rock has to be placed on top of a rock structure, it should not sit on the sand or be buried where the pump cannot be serviced. Depending on positioning, the rock can result in more vibration noise from the pump.

3) I agree with Jay, it is rare for a healthy f-i-s-h to be sucked in. It does add some extra protection in most cases, excluding fish who would be drawn to hiding in the rock.

4)In my gallery you can see the one in my old set up.
