6105 pauses

I just bought 2 used 6105s from a local club member. one of them doesn't stay on all the time.. It pauses.. I don't understand why it is doing that. Do you think because it's dirty? He soaked in vinegar for 2 days before giving them to me. Maybe I need to disassemble and clean it better?

I know he will take care of it if I give it back to him. But I'm just wondering if something that anyone experienced before.

The shaft is likely fused to the propeller magnet, the magnet and propeller should be free to spin on the shaft and it should be possible to remove the shaft from the drive unit.

Roger, what are you suggesting? Should I take it apart and put it back together to see?

I'm so glad you posted this as mine was exhibiting the same symptoms. Was just getting ready to send it in when I read this. Soaked the impeller in vinegar for a few hours and now the pump is working perfectly again. Thank you!
