6105 Too Much?

Roger or Craig,

I just recently purchased a frag tank 48" x 24" x 11" x 0.25 I will be feeding from the sump about 700gph however I would like some more flow in the tank.

I do have 2 6105's laying around. If I put in the 12v jumper would this be too much flow with one or two, and If I did use these would I need another controller?

One thing I am not sure of. If full power is 100% with the 24v jumper when you replace this with the 12v jumper are they now operating at 50%? Thats my guess. Now to take that thought a step further if I install the 12v jumper and hook the pumps up to one of the controllers set it at 30%. Does this mean the pump is running at 30% of a 100% or 30% of 50% or roughly 17% of full power?

If you do not think these would work correctly, please suggest something else... Please do not suggest anything with the Mickey mouse ears. LOL

Thanks in advance
Mark

At 12V you can still use 30-100%, 100% is about 1700 gph at 12V. I think it could work fine, I would prefer the 6055's for this because they are smaller physically but I see no reason why at the lowest power it would not work. The one thing you cannot do is overlap 30% settings, if you use a controller, the potentiometer on the pump has to be at 100% and then the controller is used to set it to 30%.
