We purchased 2 of the 6255 and just received them. I believe they we shipped direct from the factory, and will be getting 2 more come Monday if we ca resolve this issue the guard falling off, the old ones turned into a grove and that kept it on securly, on these, they barely snap on, and fall apart before we can get them in the tank let alone when the power comes on, I can always wire tie the guard on, but for the money they should be engineered a lot better, is there clips that were missing in our boxes? is there another fix or a recall?

Because the 6255 propeller housing is so open it does not have much structure, it can be deformed in shipping/storage so it does not engage as it should, but the fit will always be looser that the 6105/6155 front housings. If you just squeeze it top to bottom after removing it, to round it back out, it should more firmly engage, it likely has a somewhat elliptical shape. I would not use wire ties. The 6255 needs to be cleaned more often, it is a stronger pump, uses more power and runs hotter. Calcium will lock them up in 2-3 months so you don't want to make them harder to clean so they get neglected.
