i have 2 400w 14k hamilton reefstar pendants over my 120g. 60x18x24 tall, 8-10 inches over the waters surface.. i run them for 6hrs daily. halides only, with no supplementation.

is this enough to saturate the corals with the light they need?

if not, what do u recommend?

some are experimenting with as little as 4 and haven't seen any ill effects. I run 5 and will go down to 4 1/2 soon.

So far i run my for 6 hr MH i have three 250 XM 10K i only have two 96 w PC and i run the PC for 11 hr .
I don't like my PP so far.
Yes i had the acros get a little brighter to adjust to lower light PP But after a year the acros is not as good looking and they don't grow as good when i run the MH for 8-9 hr , so slowly i'm going back to my old setting I think if i had two more PC will make a big difference but no room in the hood.

Just to let everyone know my Reef tank is 98% SPS.
If you have a mix reef 6 hr PP will be more than enough .

I have been running 10 hours w/ (3) 250's over a 125 g tank. By the looks of other posts this might be too much.

Thanks

6 hours with 4 250 Radiums without any supplemental lighting on my 125. I have been doing this for 2 months now and it seems to be working out just fine. I too have mostly SPS and several clams as well...
