6th avenue aquariums

Went on a trip to SF today, checked out 6th Ave aquariums. They have a huge selection of fish from stingrays to damsels. The prices were outstanding as well, better than most online stores and far better than the LFS nearby. Place wasn't too packed but there isn't much walking space. Besides the prices, I love the fact that they give you a bucket and a net to get all the fish or corals you want. If you haven't been there yet, I definatey recommend going. It's fun, and cheap. Walked out with a Decorator crab, boxfish, cleaning wrasse, banner fish, and a baby hippo Tang.

Nice man. I visited neptunes for my first time today and bought some sps off a fellow reefer in SJ. I'll definitely go and check out 6th ave now. Didn't even know they existed

Hope you have a qt tank setup if that is the place i am thinking of a fellow reefer got some sick fish from them just be careful

Alright thanks, the fish I brought home are all healthy and have no signs of disease. I dose ich medication whenever I add anything, and I would qt but the tank is currently housing my banished dottyback. He killed my watchman and started eyeballing my other goby.

That place is disease infested. That back wall unit is plumbed together, along with the floor units. You see dead fish all the time or even sick fish with the water circulating through all the tanks. I feel a serious quarantine tank is needed with uv sterilizer. You definitely can find great deals. Good luck

Just think of it as a wholesale place.
It's a place to check out.
Not much coral but lots of fish.
Think they still have a bag sale in Sunday
Fish uses to be just a few bucks above wholesale prices.

Have not been there in many many years but we used to go down there a few sundays for their bag sale, great prices but I do agree and set up a quarantine tank. I never had any problems with the fish having a disease and their prices were very cheap.

The music blasting and walking upstairs and checking out the catwalk area is worth the trip alone! Livestock is like rolling the dice as far as health goes tho.
