7" Filter Media Cups (sock replacement)

Funny I'm excited to be able to pre order the 7" Filter Cups. No more socks. I'm hoping I get them next week but not sure. Anyone use the 4" versions? How do you like them?

They were freakin expensive but the convenience factor of just removing some filter floss from the cups is what sold me.

The 4" version works pretty well. I just use a ball of poly-fil (pillow stuffing).
It gets clogged within a few days but I get lazy and just swap out for new stuffing every water change.
Way easier than filter socks

Nice that sounds good to me. Would just take a minute to throw out the old and drop in the new. Poly-fil huh? 32oz for $6.50. Thanks for the tip.

I use a 2.5 qt $2.00 paint bucket from HD
drilled holes in sides & bottom, good to go!
Also using the poly fiber from Wally World.
