I got a 12 gallon AP and I have experienced some browning out on my Zoas which I cannot stand. So I want to get a Sunpod asap. Will the colors stay with MH? And will the colors come back? I am really big on colors.

thanks
Jesse

A lot of stores grow their corals under 20K which usually provides the best coloring in my opinion, but also has the slowest rate of growth. 14K is usually a nice compromise between coloration and growth.

cool you're going to like the sunpod a lot! Remind me which frags you wanted again? Orange and i think the mean greens? Give me a call

Did you get the 150w or 70w sunpod? The 150w Phoenix is a nice bulb that I've been using and gives off a nice crisp white with a blue tint to it. Very nice bulb for the price and performance. If you got the 70w, the only bulb I really like is the Astralux 14K which is a pretty nice color. Changing bulbs is not a problem but do your homework on them... it's expensive to experiment with different bulbs...

its a 70 watt...like the clean look of the 16" instead of 20" on the AP12, but yeah looks like I'm picking up a frogspawn from Jason and a frag from you for now...

I am going to be getting the sunpod as well for my AQ12. However, now that I have seen the options for bulbs for the 150 over the 70 I am considering the 150. On another note has anyone considered whether the lunar blue's are enough of an actinic spectrum? Should actinics be used along with this hood?

From what I have seen of this hood the lunar blues are pretty bright but I am unsure and have not seen in my reading if the spectrum of the lunars is anywhere near 430~490nm? doubtful...

I would like to hear everyone's insight on this. Just tell me what you think.
