7095 Burnt moonlight LED

Hi,

I have had my 7095 since december last year. I noticed last week that one of the wires connecting to the moonlight LED is burnt.

The photocell still works OK, as it still stops the pumps pulsing at night, but the moonlight wont come on anymore.

Is this easy to repair myself or do I need to send the whole controller back as it is hardwired.

cheers.

It probably isn't burnt, likely it is rusted. I had one come back that had this. Unfortunately it isn't really DIY, the wires in that cable are incredibly thin and the have to be soldered to the board. I have done this enough on various electronics to know how easily a wrong move can be very expensive, the iron has to be very hot and with a very small tip. When I am in Germany I will pick one up and bring it back with me so we can do this repair. In the case of the other one I saw the sealing compound had a gap and moisture entered. Please bump this thread around the middle- end of next week as a reminder. I really have a full plate of topics for discussion so I need reminders.

Thanks Roger,

I am actually located in Australia though. Guess I'll have to send it back to the shop i bought it from.

I would first get with them so they can get the part in for you. If they have the part it should just take a day. PM aquadepot.
