7095 Controller

I am not able to get any power to this unit with the exception of the far right Channel 2 port. I have tried a different cord and pump to no avail. I made sure all pins are straight and the ports clean.

Pumps are 6205 and they power up fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Todd

I rarely see dead ports on the 7095, when I have it usually has one of two causes, water damage is the most common if it is not isolated to one channel, it can be just a bit of water that got in around the ports. If it is just one channel, for example both ports of channel 1 or channel 2 work, it is possible that the electronics that switch between channels have failed.

What do you suggest I do to resolve this? The only port that powers currently is the channel 2 port on the far right side of the unit. It does not appear to have any water damage and has always been housed away from the water source anyway.

The first 3 ports do nothing when plugged in.

Thanks,

Todd

It will need to be sent in for repair, if it is less than 2 years old and there is no water damage it would be under warranty. If it is water damaged or more than 2 years old, there would be a charge for any repairs.

If you have an invoice warranty is from date of purchase, without an invoice it is by date of manufacture. Include a return address and phone number.

Roger,

Thank you for all the help. I do not have the invoice and don't see a manufacture date unless it's inside the unit?

I will get this sent in tomorrow.

Thanks again,

Todd

On the board is a sticker with the month marked (looks like a clock and 1-12 will be dark) and the year is written in the middle with a pen. No problem, just send it in and we will get it taken care of.

It's on the way to you.

If you find out it needs a lot of work, what are my options if it's out of warranty to switch/upgrade controllers?

Thanks a bunch Roger. As always, top notch service and assistance.

Todd

If I can't repair it and it is out of warranty, we would discount a replacement controller, you could choose a 7092, 7096 or 7095.

In your opinion if we have to go this route, which is the better option for my setup?

Tank is a 150g DD. 48x36x21 - Rimless

All types of corals from soft to SPS.

Thanks Roger. You should have the controller tomorrow.

It really comes down to personal preference. 7092 is very basic and I generally would only recommend it for smaller set ups or single pump set ups. 7096 does more but every time you want to change something you will need to connect it to a computer. It will have storm mode and wavebox mode and you can set foodtimer length, otherwise it is basically like the 7095 you have.
