7096 or 6105 issue?

i have a 7096 controller with 4 6105's. when i press the feed button 2 of the pumps do not restart after the set feeding time. i have left them and they will not restart until i unplug them from the controller and the power supply. once i reconnect everything they fire up and all is good. is this an issue with the controller or 2 of the pumps? they are only a couple of weeks old and this has happened right from new.
any info would be great.

thanks

It could be the new pumps are just a bit stiff and struggle to restart, a bit of run in would solve that, usually it takes a couple weeks to get them worn in. It may also be some foreign object is lodged between the shaft and drive unit and jamming them (fine sand, bits of algae). What voltage are the power supplies set to and how long a foodtimer are you running? Do all the other programmed functions run?

this was happening with one of the pumps right off the bat, i pulled it apart and nothing in it that i could see. when i plugged it all back in it came on. now i am noticing 2 pumps are doing it, have checked both again and still nothing i could find inside to stop them from starting.
i have the feed mode set for 2 minutes. they will also quit once night mode turns off and goes into day mode. this does not happen every day though. just looked and only 3 pumps (out of the 4) are running since my lights came on. i just find it strange that if i unplug them and plug back in they fire up no problem!!

I need more info to help in any meaningful way. I don't handle warranty outside the US, but perhaps I can help narrow it down. Any chance of a screen shot of how you have things programmed? I would be curious to know if everything else you have set up is working properly, i.e. do the pumps pulse and does the moonlight work correctly other than the pumps not restarting do they go into night mode, if not there may be some issue with the controller or how it is programmed. If the controller works correctly except on these two pumps, I would try using the cables of the two working pumps to see if it follows the cables, I would then try the ports the two working pumps are on to see if it follows the ports. The key will be narrowing down the cause, I cannot see an electrical issue of the pumps that would cause this. What voltage each pump power supply is set to would also be useful, also keep in mind if you turned down the potentiometers on the power connection box of these pumps this can cause it, when a controller is used the pots must be at 100%.

i very much appreciate all of your help.

yes the pumps pulse properly and the moon light works, it goes into night mode with out any problems.
i will switch the cables around tonight and see if anything changes on the other pumps.
i am using the 24v jumpers and the pots are at 100%

here is a screen shot of the program that i am using.

thanks again

Please update me on what you find. For the working pumps does the foodtimer last the full 2 minutes? Also, does the moonlight come on when the lights go out, or is it on all the time? Which channels are the 2 pumps that don't come on properly plugged into.

yes the timer lasts the full 2 minutes, and the moon light does go out during the day. the problem channels are #1 and #3. everything seems to be working right now since i changed cables around.

also one more question, is there a way to set up the pulse as i have for a back and forth motion but all pumps go down to 30% after lights out? im not having any problems with the way it is right now but just curious.

It sounds like it is just a loose cable connection issue. If this is a Windows based computer you could download the update which has an Interval with Idle function, it would be closer to what you are trying to do. You might wait to do the update though as yet another update is imminent that fixes a foodtimer bug which causes the foodtimer to reset after 20 seconds when all pumps are 24V. It should be posted in late May with the next major website update.

thanks a bunch roger, i did check for an update when i got the controller and it was up to date. ill check for the new one later this month.
