I have an aquapod 24 gallon, currently with the 70w HQI sunpod fixture on it. My tank is all sps corals with a small clown grouper, i have about 30 corals with a wide variety of types

I asked this question on another forum and the answer was no all the way across the board, this is not nearly enough light.

I am coming here to ask the same question, because i am looking at my tank, and my corals seem extremely happy, more so than they did in my 60 cube with 6 t-5's on it.

currently i have most of my corals on eggcrate about 3" off the bottom of the tank (im working on an aragocrete sculpture to take the place of the eggcrate), and im noticing excellent poly extension, and overall extremely happy sps's.

one person on the other forum even said i would have a hard time keeping even low light sps's in this tank.

now keep in mind, that my corals will be scattered from top to bottom, so just putting them all at the top is not an option.

also, i would like to get a small clam or 2 down the road.

so.... my question is, should i plan on upgrading, or will my 70w fixture be enough?

also, bulb selection is not an issue for me, i know it sucks for the 70's, but i love the 14k current bulb it came with, so thats fine.

I would go for at least a 150 watt bulb.. I have the 150 on my 30 gallon oceanic, and think it's barely enough light..

when i had my 29g bio cube i went from a 70 to 150 to the 250 watt sunpod. i liked the 250 watter best. i did have predominately sps and clams though.
