70W MH on a 10gal

My 70W on my 12 gallon tank is about 5 inches off the surface, and the heat issues are very minimal.

I have a 70w sunpod on my 10g, it sits about 3 inches from the water. I have my sps at the very top of my rockwork and now I wish I had gone with the 150. All the other corals are doing really well, but I feel the 70w is just not strong enough for the sps.

Yea, I would agree With fumanchu, I have the 70 watt on my nano but I only keep zoas and lps in it. SPS would much prefer the 150 watter.

here's a pic of my new 10gl. set up w/ 70W MH.

Im running the 14k Astralux bulb, everything is doing well, just wish I had the extra power of the 150. My sunpod sits 3 inches from the top of the water. no heat issues whatsoever.

I have a 70w 10K ushio on an AGA 10, everything grows nicely, except the SPS which does grow, but very slowly. If I had to do it again, I would go with a 150w with a 14K phoenix.

yeah I think heat issues would be a problem and its kind of uneccessary

but if you can get all of it for free? even fans? especially when i can build another tank chiller for 12$?
