Umm, i do use a 70w MH for a 15 gallon frag but for an extra $10 you can get a dual 175w or 250w.
Id recommend going higher unless its for a nano application (which mine is)
Pros are that it is small in size and can fit mostly all nano applications. im putting mine on a 10 gallon tomorrow. Do that with a 175 w/o frying your corals
It is a 29g with a sedona canopy, no room for a 175/250 so I came across the 70w mh. I already have 130 watts of PC, was just curious if it would be a waste of time to add it or would I benefit anything from it??
I think a 70 watt would definately beneficial to your coral growth and coloration. Its the difference of about 2 w/gallon which would provide good lighting for nearly all coral growth. The only thing which you wouldn't beable to keep under the 70w MH is a clam...
Without the 70w you are restricted to soft corals. I think 70w would be a good idea. But if you could get a 150- 175w you'd be better off plus you could keep anything/everything you want
Not interested in clams, and only interested in keeping a few SPS's. Heat is the other problem. Not really interested in the larger lights until I can get a in-wall tank to keep everything hidden
