72" MH and T5 Fixture with 250W 14K Bulbs

Want to Order the Hamilton 72" MH and T5 Fixture with 250W 14K Bulbs. One question, can the MH Ballasts run a 20K Radium Bulb?

This would be for the future once the original bulbs wear out

Please advise; i want to place tomorrow

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your inquiry. If you are going with the standard magnetic ballasts, it will not run the Radium bulbs. To be compatible with Radium bulbs, you will need the electronic ballast upgrades.

Whats better for Long term Electric or Magnetic ? I might not even run a 20K Radium.

Hi Tom,

We would say that the electronic ballasts are better. In addition to being able to run different bulb types, electronic ballasts are also more energy efficient, run cooler and is easier on the bulb during start up.
