Howdy,

I will be getting a Turbelle 7200 with controller for my 34x18x25 softy tank in the next few weeks and have a couple of questions.

I understand that the controller can have the pump vary output. Can this be set to do for example 10 seconds minimum and 30 seconds maximum, or is it the same amount of time for the min and max output set?

Also, will having the output of the Turbelle change more often than not effect the life of the pump? I would like to get some chaotic flow gowing, and I was thinking the shorter the period between min and max output would get this result. If spinning the pump up and down every 10 seconds or so will significantly reduce its lifespsan Id like to plan ahead for it.

Thanks, Tunze rocks!

The controller only allows for one time setting between 1 and 7 seconds. The idea is to have a slow moving pulse collide with a fast moving pulse and this makes the flow mushroom into a much wider flow pattern. A 3sec pulse is usually ideal. It does no harm because the damage of start and stop is eliminated and even then the computers on these pumps modulate start up to prevent damage as long as this is done through one of our controllers.
