Hello all.
I am new here and would like to share what I have been working on. It is a 75 gal tank I have installed in the wall and am currently setting up at this time.
The wall housed a fireplace prior to the aquarium but I never used the fireplace and I love my other reef aquarium so the fireplace had to go.

Now with that outa the way a little rough cut to visualize things a bit.

Well the wall wasnt quite deep enough for the aquarium to fit flush inside so I built a new wall atop the old wall and framed the stand inside before putting the sheetrock on and sliding the aquarium inside of its new home.

I still have a long way to go and lots of things to do.
I had thought about using the hole were the chimmney had been to install a Solotube skylight for natural lighting but I am now leaning towards 2 250w MH's and PC actinics
I am about to order some supplies from glassholes for the overflows and a closed loop that should churn this thing like a blender!!, and keep all the plumbing outa sight.
Gonna build the biggest refugium I can that will fit into the wall, prolly around 40 gal, that will also house the skimmer, heater, and a frag tank as well.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please post them.
Thanks

I have my 125 in the wall. I wish that I had left more room to access the top of the tank from the front. Just a thought.

how do you plan to access the tank?

I will have a colset door on the other side of the wall in my bedroom.

I thought about leaving acces to the top and bottom of the aquarium in the wall , but I didnt like the look of it(ok for some but not my taste right now)

My youngest son is worried about santa getting inside the house at christmas now

What problems/complaints do you have about not having acces to the top from the front?
Its not to late to add it in, I just wasnt planning on it.

Little update here. I decided to go ahead and get a 90g since it as the same footprint and will fit on the stand I built. I ordered a buncha stuff from glass-holes and started drilling the tank the other day.
It has a 1500gph overflow with 2 x1.5" bulkheads
there is going to be a snapper 2500gph pump with 2x1.5" bulkheads hidden behind the rockwork.
The pump will discharge out of 6x3/4" with 2 in the back glass and 2 in each side glass.
The return from the fuge will come in over the top into a manifold with 4x1/2" nozzles.
I picked up a 45g oceanic sump that I am converting into a fuge.
return lines will be fed with a mag 9.5.
There should be plenty of flow there for anything.
Lights came in this week. They are 48" 2x250w with 4x65w pc actinics.
I will post up more pics of the tank install this weekend when it all gets put in the wall.

here is a few of the tank after drilling

LMK if you have any suggestions here.

I'd rethink the fact that you have no access to your tank from the front. I know it takes away from the built in look but everytime you have to reach into the tank you will have to do it from the back or sides. This will become a pita eventually. Good luck with your build.

I am on the same page with ya!! Over the last couple of days I have decided to build a hinged door over the tank.
I was thinking what a PITA it was gonna be doing tank cleaning and thought better of my previous decision not to have access from the front.
Thanks for the input:)

Well the closed loop is done!!! The flex hose for the intake turned out to be a bad idea as I couldnt keep it from leaking at the connections.I replaced it with PVC and all is well and looks a bit better IMO. Now its on to the sump/refugium plumbing.
Anyway LMK what you think so far.
The TEE with the ball valve will be used for water changes
