I picked up a 75 gallon tank, sump, homemade stand, iwaki 1150 gph pump, and a load of accessories pretty cheap from a friend.
The tank is currently drilled with 3 1" holes for draining into the sump. There is a 1inch return coming over the top that drains back into the tank. The return pvc is kinda in the way, noisy, and spashes lots of water.
The iwaki is pretty strong but I was considering either using the 2 1" drains as drain and the third as a return will this work? If not what if I made of of the 1" drains into a 1.5" drain and reduced the 1inch drains into .5inch returns.
Any recommendations on any of these mods or should I just stick with what I have?
