The sump/refuge is for a 120 r/r tank
I'm looking for some help. I've got a 75 gallon glass tank that I've had drilled. The far right side will be the return{ Sequence ReefFlo Snapper Water Pump 2500gph}. All equipment will be placed outside the sump{Octopus Dual Recirculating 250 Protein Skimmer will drain into the sump area also}. I'm leaning towards making the refuge a seperate compartment within the sump, something like 36 by 12 starting at the far left.and fed by 1 of the drains the other drain will also be at the far left. What are your thought on this and could you guide me in the right direction.

Thanks

It sounds like a plan to me except I think you might want to consider a lower flow through the sump and use the Sequence pump for a closed loop. 20x flow through the sump would likely cause drain noise and micro bubble issues. Usually people recommend you have 6 to 10 times flow through the sump and then get the rest of the circulation that you need with a closed loop circulation system or powerheads. It also depends on how far the sump is from the tank. If your pumping from a basement then the sequence may suit you just fine. You also need to take into consideration how much volume your drain lines can take if you still intend on pumping that much volume through the sump.

The sump will be under the tank{inside the stand}.
As far as the plumbing this is how I'm thinking.
Coming out of the pump with 1.5 pipe then into a 3way Y then reducing down to 3/4 that will fed both returns{with a T off 1 of the returns feeding back into the sump/not fuge}. Lastly the final line coming out of the Y will feed the skimmer.

With the T in 1 of the returns I'll be able to put excesive water back in the sump till the lines get broke in.

Hope that makes sense
any other thought on this kind of sump/refuge setup
