I love the removable site glass.
what are the 2 clear tubes above the sump, and behind the heater?
do they go to your balling canisters? (i understand the concept, but not familiar with the setup)
i am getting more excited for the fill. just got my 200 done and now i am already bored with it because of this thread.![]()
looks awsome can't wait to see more...keep us posted!!!
Are you sure it will be ok with the intakes pointing down like that?
The water may rush out of the UV, by gravity.
Then your quartz sleeve may get really hot, crack possibly?
I don't know, just asking...
Things look really nice. Again the detail is 100% Keep up the great work!
forgive me if this is a stupid question.... but...... what's the plantonic reactor for? Wouldn't something like that be set up to feed rotifers that feed baby fish? Just currious, and again I'm almost always wrong about these things. thanks!
Phytoplancton is a really good food for corals and all filter feader too
and copperpods eat it too, so it really good to have some for a reef
because the picture was taken at an angle, the union is actually between the two outlets. not to mention its 6-8 inches off the wall.
One thing that i will point out, is when you turn the pump off (for service or power outage) that return line will create a siphon so that line will be dry. (if ever needed to take apart.)
one other thing i might ask, you hard plumbed your return pump in. i have never delt with that type of pump so i dont know if there is any vibrations especially with different head pressures. you might think of using a piece of flex tubing. (plastic, vynal, or spa flex) from the pump to the wall. (in that arch area) it might cancel any vibrations or potential harmonics.
(i an not here to bash or talk bad, just giving a opinion on the other side of the fence. a different angle for say)
keep it up
I love your build don't get me wrong, and I really hate to point this out, but do you think it was wise to have the detachable union right next to the power socket??![]()

Whoa whoa, wait a minute. You have a mated pair of Centropyge multifasciata and there are no pics of them in this thread? How long have you had them? Did they come as a pair or did you pair them up?
Also, astounding tank build. Everything looks so clean and sleek in black acrylic and gray pvc. I can't even imagine what this whole setup is going to run you, even assuming you are getting a great deal on the equipment through your significant other - I think those 2 T5 fixtures cost more than my last tank![]()
