Beautiful SPS .
I have also replenished my tank with some new sps frags about 20 of them .
What is you distance between your frags? I think i have my to close together about 6" apart but i have them All on a Medium LR so i can move them if they get to close.

Thanks guys for the compliments!

Ok so I use this site

http://www.reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/

Then do the 2 lamp spec plots.

It seems Reef fanatic makes a ballast that give the most par for the Reeflux bulbs.

BUT...I guess it's HQI since http://diyreef.com/shop/index.php?cPath=63 has the ballast listed as Electronic HQI is the HQI what the sanjay is useing for the spec plot?? Or is there a 250 Watt Reef Fanatic Electronic ballast and a 250watt Reef Fanatic HQI Ballast??

If Reef Fanatic does make a 250watt Electronic Ballast that is Straight Electronic and NOT HQI where do they sell it.

Arconom- Reef Fanatic only has electronics... They are listed as HQI just like the IceCap's since they will power a HQI bulb.

Ok But techinically don't HQI's overdrive SE bulbs?

I have heard of people overdriving there SE bulbs with HQI's but that is not my intentions.

I'm confused since for DE's you use HQI.

For SE 250w you use Magnetics-M58 or Electronic Ballast

Then there are the people that Overdrive there SE bulbs with HQI ballast and shorten there life with the bulb and run them at 300+watts... and changes color spectrum in which they were inteneded for.

Then there is the Radium 250SE which was designed to run on the HQI ballast without overdriving it.

My needs for the ballast is to run my 250SE Bulbs at the most PAR and a more true Color spec.

Help me to not be confused

To much Aquamend:(

It's used to secure corals to Liverock.

Aquamend, It's a type of 2 part epoxy you can buy from Home Depot. It's cheaper then the other Epoxys and I like it better. It eventually gets totally encrusted with the base of the coral.

Ahhhh... I've wonder how that happens. But hadn't researched it , since I am still at the beginning (my tank hasn't cycled yet).

Thanks for the info. ;)

What are you thinking of using for lighting?

On my 120g, I was going to use 2x250w XM 10K powered by a standard dual PFO 250w ballast... but your post has got me thinking... why not 2x250w Reeflux 10K being run by 2 Icecap elec ballasts?

I can't find that link that had PAR values for different bulbs/ballasts.. perhaps you do?

Well both my sump and frag tank stand are all painted. I did 2 coats of the Kilz. I love the paint it works great.

Looks like the ReefLux 10k on the Reef Fanatic ballast puts out more PPFD then on the IC ballast along with different coloring.

RF Ballast - PPFD 94, CCT=12,422
IC Ballast - PPFD 86, CCT=15,953

Ok Plumbing question time for my Frag tank that will be plumbed into my main.

I always see people divert flow instead of dialing back pumps so I might need to do this since there might be to much flow for my Drain.

As it is now I have my Mag 7 dialed back alot.

Where do I put DUBV(Dual Union Ball Valves)? I marked the sections in red to see where they go.

That looks perfect to me.

Looking at your stand, it looks like you won't be able to put the skimmer on the acrylic stand so that it stands inside the sump as previously suggested.
