75g In Office Build

I added some livestock and re-arranged a little and moved my clown and RBTA over, I'll post pics as soon as I can upload photos.

I would keep a close eye on the livestock. I realize that you have your 26 and all but such a quick progression from an brand new empty tank to one with a full load of livestock in under 2 months (incl clams and an Anemone) can be pretty perilous. The clams are pretty sensitive to stuff like this anyway.
Only reason I mention this is that the boards are littered with dramatic tank crashes that start like this.

I really like the trim on that tank, how is it done?

I used Gorilla Glue, it is excellent stuff. You have to be very carful when using it but it is as strong as nails.

Thanks for the word of actuation, I'll be letting thing sit for a little while after these additions.

I added a real nice monti cap with green polyps too but I forgot to upload it so I'll post a pick later. Here's a full tank shot.

is that a true perc or a false perc?
if it is a false, it's cool to see it actually host with the anemone.
mine didn't.... haha...
picked up a tomato... took him a total of 4 days!

It is an ocillaris (sp?) clown (false perc) they are not supposed to host RBTAs, these two are inseperable. that is how I transfered them, I picked up the rock with the anemone and the clown just followed.

There are no real good hard fast rules for what a clown will allow to host. There are some very happy powerheads that clowns have decided to allow a hosting relationship :D I have a Maroon that is having a passionate affair with a green frilly mushroom. This can be a bit disturbing as many an Elephant Ear has literally "Eaten" clowns that thought they were safe.

Look closely, Ocellaris in his final moments

Ouch!

That's a great shot, sad, but a great shot.

I lost my other o. clown a while back to a crocea clam he just could not stop paying attention to. Didn't have the camera at home that night to capture the moment.

Here's a pic of the monti cap -

I really like montis and plan to have several in this tank both caps and digis.

An update ...

An update ...

I have received several awesome frags from Typhoon. You'll have to wait for pics. I have been playing with the equipment to adjust a few issues. Firstly, micro bubbles are driving me crazy!

I really can't believe it, but I did not Teflon tape the Loc Line nossels on the manifold! Considering I have built $1million groundwater treatment systems, that is what I would call a stupid mistake.

I am also adding a Klak Reactor, as my pH fluctuation is OK but my Alk is low. It'll be up next week and I'll have pics.

One real exciting thing is that I added a male orchid dottyback to the new tank when I have had a female, so far, so good they seem to be getting along ...

Cool :)! ... hu?

Let's see what's been happening???

Work has been just nuts, so my GEO Kalk reactor still sits empty on the floor waiting to be hooked up.

And that awesome frag pack from Typhoon, the frags laid on a make-shift egg crate rack for weeks until I just got a little time to mount them all. They are doing great and many are already growing well.

My male and female orchid dottybacks seem to be getting along just fine. And I have a new o. clown and Heniochus butterfly (Schooling Bannerfish) in my QT that'll be joining the tank in a week or so.

The o.clown will hopefully pair with guy ... or gal to be ... (this sex morphing thing is a tough one to keep straight) that I already have in the tank.

Oh, one other thing, my table coral just didn't acclimate and RTN'd on me. That's the first coral casualty I have had in a long time. I am hopeful that the acro crab hitch hiker who was on it has made a home in the rockwork until some of my frags are big enough for it to live in.

Thanks, but we can all use a little help and constructive criticism and friendly observations now and again. :)

Ok.. friendly observation... I hate you and all your cool stuff!
No, seriously, it looks like an awesome start, I can't wait to see how it all turns out.
Subscribing to your thread!
~Adam D,

Im currently looking for a rr 75. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the tank? I called a local place, and they said 299.00.

If that's with the stand, that's a good price. I paid just under $400 from the LFS for this AGA RR 75 with Mega Flow kit and glass covers (which I don't use). He wanted $489 with a crapy NO florecent light fixture so I asked him to give me a cost without that, I should have knocked off the glass covers as well. Thought is was a good deal at the time, but I've seen the same tank for a little less since. But I would feel good about less than $300.

Go for it!

Adam

Thanks :)

Missed your post.

I collected all the equipment for this tank for over a year before even adding any water. It has been worth the wait. I'll be adding some new live stock next week and will update with pics soon after.

One thing I gotta say, having a tank in the office is a lot harder than I thought it would be. We are very busy at work and even simple maintenance is very difficult to keep up with. I still haven't set up my Kalk reactor, or my two 150 Phosban reactors for carbon and phosban. And making water at home and transporting it to the office is a real hassle (my well water turns out to be unusable at the office).

All that said I just love looking up from my work and watching the tank, well worth the effort.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Here's my parent colony of Candy Cane, I have one piece that broke off in the move that is doing well and this one just keeps on splitting! That's an Idaho Grape M cappi on the back right, it's a new frag that is doing real well under the MH and T5 combo lighting.

Another shot of some random frags from Typhoon, just playing with the camera really ...

And here's another of the Orchid Dottyback pair, it is really hard to get the two in focus at the same time!

After six weeks or so in QT, and an hour or so worth of drip acclimation, just added a small o. clown (smaller than the existing one which is not very large either) and a Heinochus Butterfly.

It's been about four hours since they splashed into the tank and every thing seems quite well with all.

The clowns are like long lost buddies and the Heinochus is out in the open and eating well (he's a real pig!). The tank seems to have fish in now, it seemed a little empty before.

My CB seemed a little freaked out but is over it now.

I am very happy with these additions they suit the tank well. I'll post pics when I get home.

I am considering one more addition, but only if I can find a very small individual. I just love Midas Blennys. Those eyes are so expressive. I have seen small ones at the LFS but wasn't ready with the QT. Now that it's empty I'll be looking. Does anyone have any experience with them?
