Those of you who haven't seen my previous posts, I am in the process of turning an old 75g tank into a macro algae dominated low-tech tank. Nothing but macro algae, established live rock, and a simple Hagen Aquaclear HOB filter that I had laying around. I'm really aiming to make this tank as self sustaining and low maintenance as possible, but also want to be able to keep some of the fish that most likely wouldn't mingle well in the 120g reef.
1x Yellow Longnose Butterfly - One of my all time favorite species, but my family is in love with my urchins, and I'm afraid he'd peck at their tube feet, so have refrained from keeping one in my 120g
1x Bleeker's Damsel - Cool little fish, and not commonly seen, but proved to be a bit too aggressive for the 120 during his quarantine period
2x Orange Skunk Clowns (Tank-Bred) - My 2nd favorite clown species, but don't want to risk adding a pair to my 120g with the established percula pair (no matter how docile they seem)
1x Longnose Hawkfish - Been one of my favorites since I was a kid, but have always been worried they'd slaughter my shrimp (there won't be any shrimp in this tank)
1x Cherub Angel - Also one of my favorites, and very underrated IMO. Unfortunately my last one (which unfortunately fell victim to the Velvet outbreak), was extremely aggressive to similarly shaped fish, including a small purple tang. I doubt a cherub would pose much a threat to the macro algae population
... So what do you guys think? Thanks
