Hi Ross, sorry for the late reply.I just read through this whole thread and wow, Im very impressed. Im getting ready to build a tank the same size. If you dont mind me asking 2 questions.
Do you regret not putting a access on the front like a few people told you in the beginning? How hard is it to reach the front glass to clean?
You said at one point you put in a maxpect gyre 280? Did you add another? Is this your main source of flow? if so whats your layout?
Thanks and im super impressed!!!
Ross
MonroeJust found this thread. I'm in awe. Beautiful reef tank !!!
Where in CT are you located? My 180 gallon is coming together now, going to be SPS dominated but a few other softies and LPS to mix things up a bit.
haha. where are you located? what stage of the setup are you? what is your plan for the tank?Awesome, I'm stopping by tomorrow ! :hmm5:
cool. well let me know if you are coming to or near monroe and you want to see the tank. i am glad to answer any questio s too while you work on your buildI'm in Old Saybrook. I'm plumbing the tank right now to make sure all filtration works right and there are no leaks. Then I have to carry it to it's permanent spot and drill holes in the floor for the basement sump.
I have 11 days off around Christmas and I'm going to make that happen.
its a 9.5" microlam..."laminated vaneer lumber" that is manufactured so it is true, perfectly straight. they are used for headers when you take down a wall for exampleShould of clarified; You mentioned 9.5" LVL What is LVL ? Will 2x10 work?
